About this Project
Project Scope
D.E.C (Oxford) LTD was awarded the works for the Electrical refurbishment in the magnificent Victorian Gothic Dining hall of Keble College. Probably one of our most prestigious projects to date to be involved in, the client used Original Field to design a full-scale lighting system to illuminate the impressive hall.
Lighting: Seating for over 300 people and being used daily for mealtimes and conferences the dining hall lighting system was carefully planned and designed, firstly to illuminate the ceiling and art work but also to ensure the light fittings are inconspicuous and unobtrusive to the hall,
Both IGuzzini and Erco fittings had been selected to create deep beams & wall wash illuminations.
The wiring was Installed surface mounted along brickwork but hidden from sight in all areas.
Along with the high spec light fittings we Installed a multi-zone Lutron system for complete control and flexibility for all fittings.
Power: A Three Phase consumer unit with SPD protection was Installed to supply both lighting & power being the antique brass floor boxes for 13amp power outlets and data outlets hidden under the tables, these also included 5amp light points for the table lights to be integrated with the Lutron control system.
Audio: Installation of a hearing loop was Installed surrounding the hall to assist with any deaf/hearing disabilities and a multi-channel microphone system with speakers for any speeches and conferences taking place.
